The season of hope, usually marking the start of the wedding season. Spring is probably my signature season; the sight of blossom returning to the fruit trees, cheery bluebells after a long winter, and sweetly perfumed lily of the valley beginning to appear. I adore working with all the beautiful blush pink tones of Spring.
I can’t think of anywhere I’d rather be on a summer’s day that in an English Country Garden. At this time of the year, flowers are plentiful and there is so much choice! As a country girl, I love to work with garden roses, freesias, lilacs, and sweet peas, all encased in lots of leafy foliage or in a delicate flower crown perfect for the Summertime.
Autumn brings early morning mists, soft sunlight, my favourite welly boots, and lots of wonderful texture. I do love this time of year and the opportunity it gives to get really creative. Long walks foraging for berries and fruits, and working with dahlias and sunflowers is a lot of fun at this time of the year.
Winter doesn’t have to be all about red and greens; I love scouring the hedgerow for thistles, berries, and textured foliage. Decorative wreaths in silver and blue tones with snow-white roses are my favourite at this time of the year.
